Hallelujah! This Week of Atonement is truly providing reason to shout, Hallelujah! Launa and I have been going through the brochure together. Imagine, the day we considered Relationships with Family, Launa heard from a cousin with whom she had been out of touch for about fifty years.

We had another knee-jerking experience the following day as we studied our relationship with our local church. One of the reflective questions was – how have you helped the local church to be a better community? We reworded the question to ask, how is the local church benefiting from the skills God has given to us? We have begun to explore the answer.
How has it been for you? Remember you can share your answers during Saturday morning’s time of prayer. The two-hour meeting begins at 6:00 o’clock and I am eager to hear Mackie minister on Prayers God Answers.
Pastor Mark Dawes will bring the Week of Atonement to a close with his sermon on Sunday morning. We believe his call “to be of the same mind in the Lord”, will be just as challenging as last Sunday’s delivery.
Our condolences to Elder Philip Henry and his cousins on the passing of Sister Joy Webster. The family is requesting tributes for the memorial service, scheduled to take place this Wednesday. Look out for additional details.
Last night I taught the first of three classes on Christian Worship. This graduate course is proving to be quite informative. Join me in prayer for the students. Pray that the material will produce meaningful outcomes in their personal lives and in the churches where they serve.

At the beginning of the year, you made a pledge to the Lord. Some of you pledged to read through the Bible in 2021. How is that going? If you are lagging behind, do not turn back. Do two readings each day and catch up. Today it will seem to be a routine, tomorrow it can become your joy. From James 1:4 we learn, “let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
