Pastor Dave encourages us to love God with our minds. We love God with our minds when we use reason in exercising our faith; when we acquire knowledge about Him; when we memorize His word when we use our imagination.
Pastor Dave talks about stewardship and specifically about spiritual gifts. He explains that spiritual gifts are divine enablings, demonstrations of God’s abilities, given only as God determines and reflect God’s diverse abilities.

Pastor Dave looks at Psalm 119, the longest psalm among the psalms. He gives an overview that involves unpacking the structure of the psalm and concluding with a challenge to do delight in the Word of God.
Pastor Dave presents Psalm 94 as an appeal to God, asking him to address the wicked and proud. To understand why the psalmist makes his appeal, he investigates those referred to as wicked and their behaviour towards God, his people and the vulnerable. Pastor Dave juxtaposes the current state of the world with the characteristics of the “wicked”. He points out how the psalmist enumerates the capabilities and greatness of God and affirms that he can respond with justice. He challenges us to position ourselves to benefit from God’s affirmation and help. In conclusion we are encouraged not to take revenge but to focus on overcoming evil with good.
David Pearson unpacks this Psalm attributed to Asaph. It is a Psalm written when the Israel was in exile and they felt defeated. He looks at the fact that God is kind to the wicked. He challenges us to an enduring faith in God’s character and authority. He concludes that Psalm 75 is a declaration that we can trust the just character of God.
Pastor Mark Dawes looks at Psalm 24, his theme is “Praise to the King of Glory”. He argues that the psalm talks about the reign and return of the King of Glory. He also looks at how the psalm addresses creation, the Gospel and justification by faith.
We continue in the Pslams as Pastor Dave looks at Psalm 29. In Psalm 29, the Psalmist associates the powerful displays of nature with the voice of God. As other nature psalms, Psalm 29 points to the creation as a whole or some part of it as a witness to God’s wisdom, greatness, and power.
In this sermon Pastor Dave continues in the Psalms, drawing on Psalm 16. He encourages us to find shelter in God as a mentor, to rejoice in fellowship with his people and find direction, guidance, counsel and peace in life and death.
